Friendships, Family and Relationships Family: Through her mother, Andromeda Tonks, descended from the House of Black. While she give that fact no importance as in world-view, she has some of the traits for that family, including the potential for insanity. Her father was muggle-born and through him, she's partly acquainted with the muggle world. She loves her mother, but they are both extremely strong-willed and so often fight. Tonks has a son, Ted (Teddy) Remus Lupin, who is a bit over a year old and her joy. Friendships: Tonks was close with Charlie Weasley in school, and also had good relationships with most of the other Hufflepuffs she was at Hogwarts with. Later, during training and work as an Auror, and later with the Order of the Phoenix, she had close working relationships with Kingsley Shacklebolt and Alasor Moody, as well as a good friendship with the Weasleys. She certainly hopes that she'll at least remain good friends with Remus, whatever happens. Relationships: (Picking up information already existing in the game) Tonks dated Charlie Weasley for about a month in their last year at school, but the relationship ended on good terms when they decided they weren’t right for each other. Previous to that she's had a couple of flings with guys (her first... experience was fun, when she was about 14 and the boy was last-year, but she says it's nobody business who that was but theirs). After Charlie, she's dated some of the trainee (and full) Aurors, as well as a couple of muggles, until she started work for the Order. Which was one long falling in love with Remus Lupin until she told him and got rejected repeatedly. That resulted in her going into depression - both for he own heart, repeatedly broken by each refusal of Remus', and for HIM, who was choosing to stay alone when things were hard and he did need somebody close. And, well, just fear for him too. They were married eventually and she got pregnant, and the rest is described better in Remus' story, because he knows why he left. In the aftermath, Tonks is trying hard to not slip back into depression; and more or less succeeding, but she's not happy, by any stretch of imagination. Occupation: Tonks works as an Auror at the Ministry of Magic. Hair colour: Varies; preferred: bubblegum pink Eye colour: Varies; preferred: either dark, almost black; or light blue Height: Varies, default: a little below average Build: Varies, default: slim and fit, steady body structure Physical markings Scars: None. Tattoos: Haha she wishes, but because of being a metamorphmagus, they don't stay - they dissolve from her skin at the first morph of that area. Personality: Tonks is a bundle of energy. She's usually just... brighter, louder, and more enthusiastic than is expected. (unless depressed, of course, but ... no need to go into that). She loves to help, she loves making people laugh - generally, she loves making people feel better - she is, well, empathic. She is also clever and observant, and very stubborn. Besides, she is clumsy, klutzy, and can generally trip over her feet or wreak havoc to a room even if one thinks the room is secured against such things. Except when she's working. When she concentrates in her 'Auror mode', her mind is working full-on, she rarely misses things, and her emotions are under tight control. She may still have occasional episodes of clumsiness, but they are a lot rarer than otherwise. She's a determined and imaginative young woman, both in life, in getting her goals, and in fightings/duels. Oh, and she's a metamorphmagus. That means she can look exactly as she pleases. With some research and a LOT of practice, she can take the physical appearance/form of an animal, but she does NOT turn into that animal - she's still vulnerable to, say, werewolf bites. Unless she needs to use flying or a specific form, she really seldom morphs into an animal - however, she may use her knowledge to partly morph - both for comic relief (try not laughing when the girl across the table suddenly grows a duck's bill!) or for fighting when it comes to really close quarters. Say, turning her fist into a panther's claws, or hardening her skin to bone or scales to deflect an attack, certainly help. She has a very great capacity to love, and though that is not limited to one person, for the last years she has been pretty much concentrated on Remus Lupin. However, with his choice of separation and pending divorce, her world needed to be rearranged. The most important person is, for the moment, Teddy Remus Lupin, and she's certainly focusing her immense energy to be a good, very good mother. Underneath it all, at the very core, buried very deep, she's also a Black descendant. There is a pinch of Black madness at the centre, and that's where all the energy comes from, filtered through much love and genuine care about people. But it results in temper flares at times, and in steely will. The only way to make her step back from it is to make her see she is hurting somebody more than she is doing good. She's pretty self-confident, with only rare fits of insecurity. And she sees a lot, even if she chooses to ignore dangers she's sure she can handle. Strengths and Flaws Strengths: Flying, being a very good Auror, quick thinking, high energy, enthusiasm, wanting to help, and a somewhat practical and hard-to-extinguish sense of humour, deep empathy. Potions making! Flaws: Short tempered, over protective, slightly rebellious, often decides on the spur of the moment (her intuition is pretty good, but still some thinking things through might often help). Oh, and she's dead clumsy! General Opinions Ministry of Magic: Tonks' view on the Ministry is rather complicated. She's spent a long time working the job she wanted to since she was a child - and at the same time spying on that job, because of the attitude regarding Voldemort. She is hopeful, with Kingsley in charge, and she's very diligent (and vigilant, thanks, Moody!) in her work. But she doesn't trust anyone at all to do her thinking for her. Including her superiors in the Aurors office and the Ministry. She'd fight tooth and claw (and by sharing her life with someone) against any kind of prejudice and bigotry. What one chooses to do matters more than what one has to work with, by blood or curses or whatever. Marriage: She really really tried to make it work, with Remus. She's kind of... losing her hope that she can be in a functional one. But that won't stop her giving her best. For Teddy's sake. Blood Purity: She couldn't care less. Activities and interests Activities: Work. And a lot of HOMEWORK for work, reading, keeping up with magical developments, reports. Reading a whole lot - she reads fast, and can sometimes re-read many times. Flying - she loves flying! And often does it for relaxation and stress relief. She used to be a Beater for Hufflepuff at Hogwarts. OH yes, going to Quidditch games is also something she does. Most of her fre time now is taken up by caring for her son. (And she wouldn't have it any other way.) Interest: Defenses against the Dark Arts. History of, in-depth research, and keeping up with any new developments. Muggle literature, in particular Fantasy and Science Fiction. Quidditch. Motherhood. Up to an extent, training new Aurors. Habits and Quirks Habits: Morphing hair according to mood. Bouncing up when excited. Always keeping on the look-out for potential dangers. Nibbles on chocolate too. Quirks: Overly energetic. Usually speaks a little too loud. Dresses a bit punky. When really really angry, she'll go deep into the woods and take it out on the trees there, rather than remain boiling around people. Is close to panicky that she is more like her Aunt Bellatrix than she's comfortable with, so she takes preventive measures. Oh, she's also clumsy - trips, drops things. And is really not good at all with household spells, including most cooking - which sits really odd with the fact that she's good with potions...
